Ms. Ewenstein provides transactional, intellectual property licensing, and compliance services to a range of public charities, private foundations, artists and entrepreneurs. She has a particular expertise in the legal aspects of domestic and international grant-making activities as well as the general regulatory and legal requirements of tax-exempt organizations. She also frequently works with scholarly and arts organizations and independent creators on licensing projects, new ventures and collaborations.
STEFANIE H. ROTH, PARTNER
Ms. Roth specializes in the laws governing exempt organizations, including non-profit governance, development and fundraising, general corporate and financing transactions and collaborations and joint ventures with for-profit and non-profit entities. She advises nonprofits in a variety of fields, and has a particular expertise in the legal issues specific to museums and performing arts organizations, original visual and performance art commissions and licensing arrangements.
Ms. Colwell advises public charities and private foundations on a broad range of issues, including initiating the process of incorporation and obtaining tax-exempt status, drafting and implementation of governance policies, the licensing and distribution of intellectual property, and advising on grant-making programs and fiscal sponsorship agreements.
Ms. Klein advises public charities and private foundations on a broad range of issues, including compliance with federal tax laws and state corporation laws, corporate governance, charitable solicitation, lobbying, grant-making and general corporate matters.
